Help & Advice
Your Oplo Track questions answered
How can I improve my credit score?
The Oplo Track tool can alert you to factors which are having an impact on your score, so you can see the types of actions you can take that might help to improve your score if needed.
If you see that there is room for improvement, there are some actions that you can take to help address this, e.g.
- Ensure you are registered on the electoral register
- Pay any credit commitments or bills on time
- Don’t exceed your agreed overdraft or credit limits
- If you have any credit accounts that you no longer use or require, you may benefit from closing them.
- Settle any outstanding public data records as soon as you can e.g. any outstanding CCJ’s
Why is my Oplo Track Score different to other scores?
The Oplo Track score you see is out of 710 and is provided by the credit reference agency TransUnion. Other credit reference agencies include Experian and Equifax.
Not all lenders share data with all credit reference agencies and your score can differ between agencies because of this.
How does Oplo obtain my score from TransUnion?
By accessing the Oplo Track section of the Customer Account Management Area, a request is submitted to TransUnion under section 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to obtain your credit score.
How often is my credit score updated?
Your credit score refreshes in Oplo Track on a monthly basis so it’s a good idea to keep checking it regularly so you can ensure the credit report in it is accurate. When your score updates a soft search will be left on your credit file. This is not visible to lenders, but will be visible to you, TransUnion and any other third party that you permit to view your full Credit Report.
What does my Oplo Track Score mean?
Your credit score, worked out from your credit report, is a general interpretation of how much of a ‘risk’ lenders might think you are to lend to.
The higher your score, the more likely you are to be offered cards and loans with cheaper rates and better offers. However, your credit score does not take into consideration whether a product is affordable and the lenders acceptance criteria. Your score alone does not mean you will be accepted.
How is my score worked out?
It’s worked out on a number of factors including your past behaviour with credit products – things like credit cards, overdrafts, loans, mobile phone contracts and monthly utility accounts.
The companies providing these services report your use and payments to a credit reference agency, where it can be seen by future lenders you apply for credit with. Altogether, this information paints a picture of how reliable you are at repaying money.

We will attempt to both resolve your complaint through investigation and to respond to you with the outcome. Who can access my score?
Only you will be able to see your Oplo Track score. To protect your data, please do not allow any other person to use your username and password to access the account management area.
